Job Overview/Summary

The IT department supports the organization's work by providing reliable and scalable applications and infrastructure of the IRC's offices in the US and around the world, including many technologically challenging locations. An integral component of this effort is ensuring users have the knowledge and training needed to utilize our business systems effectively.

The IT Training Specialist will work closely with the Sr. Manager, IT Training and the Business Relationship Management team to support training development, delivery and rollout of the IRC's collaboration systems. A key aspect of this role will include ongoing development and maintenance of training materials and facilitation of formal training sessions on IRC collaboration tools; including RescueNet (the IRC's company intranet), Skype for Business, WebEx Meeting Center, Box and other systems. Training mediums will include formal classroom delivery at IRC offices in the US and international field offices, as well as remote web-cast delivery. Another key aspect of this role will be to work closely with the intranet team, to support training needs and overall user engagement of the IRC's intranet.

Major Responsibilities

  • Work independently (and with Subject Matter Experts) to learn IRC's collaboration platforms.
  • Develop training materials and conduct training on new system releases and enhancements.
  • Develop and oversee production of job aids and classroom set up for training sessions.
  • Administer post-training continued education sessions, including 1:1 and group sessions.
  • Create and maintain self-directed video tutorials on system applications and processes.
  • Work closely with the Communications and Intranet teams to "Champion" the intranet and support internal announcements, best practices and knowledge sharing.
  • Create and manage intranet help pages, in light of product or process changes.
  • Conduct post-training analysis to determine training effectiveness.
  • Provide feedback to end-users and IT Training Manager throughout the training process.
  • Maintain successful training delivery satisfaction statistics to drive program success.
  • May require international travel.

Requirements Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • 3-5 years of combined progressive training facilitation and instructional design experience.
  • ELearning development experience using Camtasia, Articulate or similar tools.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Excellent writing and documentation skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • A passion for adult education and teaching.
  • Experience in training session facilitation of 10 or more people for global audiences.
  • Advanced experience using WebEx to conduct global training webinars.
  • Ability to constantly learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems.
  • Ability to communicate and build effective working relationships across a diverse group of people and departments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Box, and Content Management Systems.
  • Fluency in French a plus (but not required).

Working Environment

  • Standard office working environment

Some international travel as needed
