Job Overview/Summary:
We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible and work for PQU from August - September with a potential to extend beyond. The role will be based in NY at IRC HQ.
The Grants Officer will be directly supervised and by the Senior Finance Officer for PQU support from August - September. This role may also have specific tasks overseen by senior grants management staff in the Technical Units to backstop existing grants coordinator capacity.
The primary objective of the position is to provide day-to-day donor and foundation grants management support to IRC's Technical Units.
Major Responsibilities:
Grant Proposal Development:
- Backstop technical units that need support (due to maternity/other leave, insufficient capacity) to develop proposal budgets and manage OTIS workflow. Ensure final submission documentation is uploaded in completion by submission deadline.
Grants Financial Management:
- Maintain list of active and pipeline TU-led grants
- For non-USG and Development grants, prepare quarterly and final donor financial reports, which includes consolidating country and TU portions and reviewing for accuracy in preparation to send to Finance for final review before delivery to donor
Other:
- Collaborate with Director of Planning and Operations and Finance leaders on one-off financial stewardship and grants management tasks as-needed

Job Requirements:
1 Bachelor's degree in financial management or business administration; 2 At least 6-8 years of progressive finance, grants and/or budget management experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector 3 Knowledge of financial reporting software and experience with SUN preferred 4 Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications. Excellent Excel skills a must; 5 Demonstrated knowledge of key donor financial management requirements and systems, especially USG, EU, and UN; 6 Exceptional attention to detail; 7 Strong communication and interpersonal skills: demonstrated ability to work effectively across and within a large, complex non-profit organization, both laterally and vertically; 8 Previous work experience in a multi-cultural international environment desirable 9 Previous knowledge of US Government and European regulations highly desirable 10 Flexible work attitude with ability to work highly independently yet meeting established, often tight, deadlines.
