As part of the Development team in the Global Partnerships and Philanthropy (GPP) Department, the Strategic Events Unit plays an important part in raising awareness and funding by introducing our message of hope to audiences and communicating the impact of our work through a wide range of fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship and other outreach activities.
Job Overview/Summary: Reporting to the Director of Strategic Events, the Donor Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for developing and managing a robust portfolio of field trips and other engagement activities for IRC's board and overseers as well as major corporate, foundation and individual donors. Working in a goal-oriented and fast-paced environment, the Donor Engagement Coordinator will work in partnership with stakeholders in development and IRC's international and domestic field teams to develop engagement opportunities that connect donors with IRC's inspiring global programs that help demonstrate the impact of their support.
Major Responsibilities:
In collaboration with key stake holders develop and implement a portfolio of quarterly board/donor trips (includes one IRC presidential delegation) to IRC international and domestic field sites.
Liaise with program staff to identify safe, interesting destinations and develop itineraries.
Coordinate all travel arrangements including, but not limited to,
Arranging flights and hotel accommodations.
Supporting visa applications process.
Preparing professional travel packets
Prepare post-trip reports.
Develop and implement one of a kind trips for Principal Donors ($1 million +) and prospects as required.
Develop board/donor trip protocols.
Develop and implement a series of high level volunteer and corporate employee engagement activities and program site visits (for example, hosting donors at the NY Refugee Summer Youth Academy.)
Coordinate the annual young professionals' (GenR-Generation Rescue) trip to the field.
Other donor engagement activities as needed.

Internal: Board/Overseer Liaisons, President's Office, International Programs, US Programs, Major and Planned Giving, Institutional Philanthropy and Partnerships, Strategic Events, Creative Services.
External: Board members and Overseers, major corporate, foundation and individual donors.
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree minimum, advanced degree is a plus.
Work Experience: three to five years conference and meetings planning experience or related field. Experience managing high level delegations is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
- Detail orientated, effective organizational and time-management skills;
- Ability to adapt quickly, plan for, prioritize and manage multiple projects while working in a fast-paced environment as part of a team;
- Excellent interpersonal skills: the ability to communicate and liaise effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, vendors, and consultants;
- Sound judgment in maintaining confidentiality of donor information;
- Solid Computer skills: ability to work effectively and accurately with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of event and customer relationship management software. Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Must be enthusiastic, creative and collaborative.
- Must have a passion for the IRC's mission and commitment to fundraising, constituent stewardship and cultivation .
Language Skills: Excellent spoken and written English is essential. Proficiency in either French or Arabic is a plus.
Working Environment: Standard office work environment. Significant travel (25% or more of the time) is required for advanced planning and delegation trips.
