Job Overview/Summary: The Volunteer Operations Manager will be responsible for coordinating day to day tasks associated with AmeriCorps and volunteer management. The manager will play an important role in facilitating online trainings for IRC staff and AmeriCorps members, updating operations and training materials, and tracking and report program outcomes. The position will report to the Senior Program Officer, Volunteer and AmeriCorps.
Major Responsibilities:
- Meet with volunteer coordinators, AmeriCorps members and supervisors on a bi-monthly basis to provide technical assistance and ensure smooth volunteer programming
- Responsible for soliciting relevant volunteer and AmeriCorps data, analyzing information, and creating mid-year and end of year reports
- Serve as primary point of contact for AmeriCorps members
- Collect and ensure compliance for volunteer, AmeriCorps and mentorship documentation throughout the year
- Collaborate with HR and Finance on volunteer and AmeriCorps benefits and documentation
- Conduct trainings throughout the year for AmeriCorps members and IRC staff who supervise members
- Create and update staff and member manuals;
- Maintain related RescueNet sites
- Develop monthly newsletters
- Track program outcome and outputs and perform initial analysis of results
- Collaborate with ICM Program Officer and Economic Empowerment TAs on volunteer and AmeriCorps support
- Assist with drafting volunteer-related proposals
- Provide logistics support for in-person trainings
- Collaborate with US Programs HQ staff on recruitment and on-boarding of interns
- Assist with Board Mentorship & Corporate engagement opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
Key Working Relationships:
Position Reports to: Senior Program Officer, Volunteer & AmeriCorps
Indirect Reporting: Board Engagement Officer, ICM Program Officer, Senior Program Officer, Development Other Internal and/or external contacts: describe the nature of departments or groups the position influences or requires support from to accomplish objectives.
Internal: Work with US Programs colleagues, field staff, HR, Finance, and Revenue departments
External: Corporation for National & Community Service, groups interested in volunteering
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree required
Work Experience:
- 3+ years of experience working with volunteer management, Americorps experience preferred
- Experience in developing online training tools and facilitating virtual trainings
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Programs
- Experience in using Salesforce
- Strong data management, manipulation and reporting skills.
- Excellent written verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, able to work efficiently on his/her own
Working Environment: Standard office work environment in New York HQ office.
