Job Overview/Summary:
IRC's Global Partnerships and Philanthropy (GPP) department is responsible for the global delivery of our private sector fundraising, contributing upwards of $200 million per year, and delivering key partnerships and influence that support our mission. GPP Europe, the regional hub, comprises of IRC-UK and IRC Deutschland, as well as future European fundraising markets.
As the Project Manager – GPP Europe you will own the improvement of effective project management leadership and support across current and future GPP European markets. The department has achieved significant revenue growth over recent years, expanded into new markets, and delivered and initiated a range of high-impact projects to ensure sustainable, effective fundraising. With continued investment and increasing ambition, you will help us establish excellent business management processes and project delivery and be a central part to our continued success.
Working closely with GPP’s Planning and Partnerships team, you will use the IRC’s existing PM framework and tools, and your own innovative approaches, to support the fundraising teams and senior leaders in delivering outstanding strategic projects. You will be joining a team focused on excellence (IRC-UK recently won the 2018 IoF Fundraising Charity of the Year) with significant opportunity to lead on change and drive impact.
Major Responsibilities:
- Applying project management framework throughout project life cycle, including: developing project plans; assigning responsibility and ownership of project components; setting milestones; organizing and sequencing tasks; and managing cost, performance and stakeholder expectations.
- Personally drive project delivery and willingness to problem solve issues and actively remove obstacles to the completion of a project, including applying a “roll up the sleeves and fix it” attitude when necessary.
- Closely lead progress against objectives, including highlighting roadblocks, managing the work-streams of others on the team, and driving full-team problem solving as required.
- Effectively communicate the progress of projects across all project partners and collaborators (including senior leaders).
- Embrace a learning mindset and take personal responsibility for continuous performance improvement, and for supporting the ongoing growth and success of GPP Europe against its broader objectives.
Job Requirements:
Experience: Experience in a project management role, delivering complex and impactful projects. Interest in non-profit fundraising, humanitarian aid and/or international development preferred.
Qualifications: related degree or project management qualifications.
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of and confirmed ability to apply project management processes, frameworks and standard methodologies;
- Ability to break down complex issues/problems into distinct parts and working in a structured way;
- High level of comfort with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Strong listening and analysis skills – asking the right questions to drive others towards solutions;
- Good interpersonal and collaborative skills, including ability to work with a variety of stakeholders and drive performance without direct authority.
Language Skills: English (fluent)
