Overview: IBTCI is seeking an Adjunct Faculty/Professor to perform a variety of functions for an anticipated support services contract for the Africa Center for Strategic Studies (ACSS) under the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DCSA). The Adjunct Faculty/Professor will provide research services, deliver seminars and workshops, and develop content for ACSS. This position is contingent upon award.

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Provide adjunct faculty-level support to research and develop content in support of ACSS.

· Lead and manage academic seminars, programs, workshops, etc.

· Facilitate and lecture seminar instruction, development curriculum, concept papers, syllabi and other related academic documents.

· Conduct research and participate in related academic activities.

· Research, identify and secure the services of subject matter experts who will provide subject matter expertise as Adjunct Faculty to direct seminars, provide expertise during curriculum development workshops, author papers or speak at ACSS functions.

· Create content/curriculum for use in ACSS programs and/or products.

· Facilitate seminars, programs, curriculum development workshops, research and related activities for senior governmental officers from the U.S. and ACSS region.

· Other duties as assigned.

RequiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Demonstrated experience creating seminar/curriculum content.

· Strict attention to detail.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability and willingness to work with all levels of the organization.

Minimum Requirements:

· More than 5 years of experience teaching and facilitating courses at the graduate level.

· Demonstrated track record in developing and leading academic programs relevant to the area of experience.

· U.S. government experience with issues related to African and U.S. foreign policy issues required.

· Oral and written fluency in English required.

Education: Master’s degree in international studies or other related field required. Ph.D. preferred.

Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment.

Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: International travel may be required.
