Job Overview/Summary: The Employment Supervisor is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the provision of employment services for refugees, asylees, and other beneficiaries of the IRC in Atlanta’s employment programs, with the goal of helping beneficiaries secure and maintain employment and achieve economic self-sufficiency**.** The Employment Supervisor will ensure program goals are met and oversee quality control for both service provision and contractual compliance.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Oversight of Employment Service Programs:

  • Actively participate in and oversee the implementation of the IRC in Atlanta’s employment programs to ensure all program requirements and IRC standards of care are met.
  • Ensure oversight and monitoring of case files for proper file documentation and ensure full compliance with all policies, procedures and protocols of the IRC Atlanta office and funding organizations.
  • Accountable for ensuring accurate and timely tracking and reporting of employment services data and outcomes to donors and all relevant parties, including reviewing and submitting:

o Monthly job placement reports to the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS)benefits office

o Matching Grant (MG) self-sufficiency reports

o Monthly reports of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funded employment services

  • Ensure regular and accurate tracking of employer partners.
  • Assist as needed in the development of grant proposals and reports related to the IRC’s employment program with the goal of increasing the quality, size, and scope of the program.
  • Regularly collect and review employment services data to determine areas of strength and areas of improvement. Develop and implement interventions to improve scope and quality of client services.
  • Report regularly to Economic Empowerment Manager on activities and results as well as areas of concern.

Leadership and Supervision of Employment Team:

  • Responsible for the orientation, training, and supervision of employment staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Lead and facilitate employment team meetings and trainings.
  • Oversee the daily provision of the employment team’s duties, effectively delegate work assignments, provide coaching and mentoring to direct reports, and actively participate in the delivery of client services as necessary.
  • Provide leadership to ensure that the employment team develops and maintains partnerships with employers that lead to successful employment opportunities for clients.
  • Serve as point person and employment team representative for collaboration and correspondence with stakeholders including partner agencies, employer partners, and donors.
  • Maintain close communication with employment staff regarding challenging cases and carry out timely, professional interventions to ensure appropriate service delivery.
  • Provide direct client services by taking on assigned cases as necessary to achieve employment program goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Team/Office Participation:

  • Participate in all program meetings, staff development activities, and other duties as assigned.
  • Work as part of a team to provide comprehensive strength-based services to IRC clients through coordination of cases and effective communication between team members and departments.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures and protocols of the agency.

Key Working Relationships:

Position Reports to: Economic Empowerment Manager**
Position directly supervises:** Employment Specialists, Employment & TANF Specialist, AmeriCorps Volunteers within Employment Team

Indirect Reporting: None Other Internal and/or external contacts:

Internal: IRC Employees, interns, volunteers

External: Clients, employer partners, community partners

Job Requirements:

Education: Undergraduate degree preferably in Social Work, Human Services or a related field of study.

Work Experience: Two+ years of professional experience preferred in a relevant field such as social services, humanitarian relief, or public service.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies: Demonstrated success achieving goals and communicating cross-culturally. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Database familiarity strongly preferred.

Language Skills: Fluent in English, both spoken and written; bilingual ability in one of the predominant languages of the local client base is desired.

Certificates or Licenses: Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area

Working Environment:

  • A combination of standard office environment and ‘field’ time in and around the service delivery area.
  • May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
