In response to the influx of refugees in Greece, The IRC Hellas has been working in Lesvos since June 2015, currently providing support to Middle East and North Africa refugees
Job Overview/Summary: The Senior Site officer is responsible for the IRC team working at the different resettlement sites in Northern Greece. S/he will act as the focal point for coordination, security discussions, liaison with the other actors working in the site, including the Ministry of Interior, Military and UNHCR and others as needed.
The Senior Site Officer will also be responsible for organizing, in collaboration with the management of the different Programmes Teams, all pertinent actors and volunteers, any IRC distributions conducted at the sites.

Major Responsibilities:
Position objectives:
· Act as IRC focal point during discussions with Site managers, local authorities, and other actors
· Support the site planning and the set-up phase of the transit site if still ongoing
· Act as IRC security focal point for the different sites.
· Help set up and manage all NFI and Distribution-related activities in coordination with IRC programme leads and other pertinent actors.
· Ensure accurate and timely reporting for site level activities.
· Carry out in accordance with program guidelines the registration process of program beneficiaries. Always ensure the process is transparent, comprehensive and carried out in a dignified and participatory manner.
· Prepare and implement any IRC distributions including site prep, verification, distribution, crowd control and the handling of complaints.
· Carry out outreach efforts and ensure local buy – in. Work with local representatives and figures to ensure the program is well understood by the community and is in line with local expectations and requirements.
· Fully comply with IRC safety and security procedures and provide input to security monitoring and assessments to enable and promote a safe and secure environment for program implementation.
· As requested undertake/participate in liaison, coordination, and information sharing activities with national NGOs, international organizations, donors and government
Job Requirements:
· Prior team management experience required
· 3-5 years professional experience, with a professional degree
· Proven abilities in developing work-plans, data collection and analysis and performance monitoring, team management.
· Security management experience a plus
· Comfortable providing representation of IRC at the local level with authorities and other international and local actors
· INGO experience preferred
· Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, detail oriented, dynamic, results – oriented, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
· Fluency in English and Greek strongly preferred.
· Prior experience in distribution or community outreach preferred.
· Proven abilities to work with host and IDP / refugee communities.
WORK ENVIRNOMENT:**
The candidate must be prepared to spend extended working hours in what may be adverse weather conditions or stressful environments, often standing or moving around for long periods of time.
Working schedule*:* Office hours and on a call basis in case of emergency

· While in resettlement sites, all IRC staff must wear appropriate IRC visibility.
