Scope of work:
To enhance its protection case management services and meet the needs of its most vulnerable clients, the IRC is seeking a consultant to support the development of structured psychosocial support (PSS) services for caregivers of people with specific needs. The objective of this consultancy is to equip protection case management staff with practical skills to support caregivers of people with physical disabilities, mental health concerns, the elderly, and others, particularly those whose movement and social interaction is limited as a result of their responsibilities.
Detailed outputs:
Develop a series of ten ‘Care for Caregivers’ PSS sessions for individuals and families supporting and caring for people with disabilities, mental health concerns, and other reduced mobility and/or autonomy
· Adapt existing resources, including but not limited to those produced by Harvard University, and independently develop new content to develop a series of 10 context-appropriate sessions
Develop a written manual detailing the methods and content of designed PSS sessions
· Document the designed series of ‘Care for Caregiver’ PSS sessions in a user-friendly written manual in English and Arabic, to be used by case workers and case management officers
Develop self-guided training materials for use by non-specialist providers on the delivery of PSS sessions
· Based on the written manual, develop training materials in Arabic for case management staff on how to deliver ‘Care for Caregivers’ sessions including the basic principles of care
Deliverables:
· Facilitator’s manual for a minimum of ten ‘Care for Caregivers’ PSS sessions, including methods, content, practical guidance and exercises, in both Arabic and English
· Detailed self-guided training session materials, including handouts, worksheets, and Powerpoint slides, in Arabic
Requirements:
· Psychologist or clinical social worker
· 5+ years of experience in direct service provision or psychosocial program management in the Middle East.
· Experience developing Mental Health and Psychosocial Support curricula
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-culturally Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
