Background/IRC Summary:
IRC's Global Partnerships and Philanthropy (GPP) department is responsible for the global delivery of the International Rescue Committee's financial resources, and plays an important strategic role in the creation of its brand, awareness and support for its advocacy goals. The IRC's strategy centers on its ambition to continue to improve the scale and effectiveness of IRC programs worldwide with evidence of what works best to impact people's lives in conflict and fragile settings. GPP comprises colleagues and teams delivering government funding, marketing, account management, leadership gifts, board liaison, corporate partnerships and communications to support this work. Primarily these colleagues are located in the USA - but IRC plans to significantly expand its global revenue footprint in the coming years.

Job Overview/Summary:
The Business Analyst provides support in ensuring high quality data analytics for all revenue-generating activities across the GPP department, including global and private and public sector funding sources.
They are accountable for working with colleagues and senior leaders across the GPP team in creating and maintaining queries, reports, and dashboards to ensure proper tracking of IRC key performance indicators and progress.
They are a dynamic, self-motivated and curious about data-driven decision-making processes and motivated to help drive necessary business change and help deliver on the IRC's key strategic goal of Data Based Decision Making.
Major Responsibilities:
1 Support a best in class analytics function - work with colleagues and senior leaders across IRC to help them answer questions and discover insights about their work. 2 Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. 3 Establish and deliver impactful regular dashboards and reports, focused on real-time performance monitoring and actionable insights. 4 Work across multiple data sources to proactively and continually monitor trends, analyze and interrogate data, and make strategic and timely recommendations on important opportunities and/or solutions to key challenges, ensuring follow through on agreed actions. 5 Work with key colleagues throughout the GPP department to foster a dynamic, data-driven and solutions-focused culture and approach to work. 6 Identify potential new 3rd party enrichment data to integrate into data warehouse. Manage bulk loads, batch file uploads, and other ETL processes. 7 Identify and define new process improvement opportunities. Help document and maintain system documentation. 8 Identify opportunities and develop and execute plans to improve quality assurance across data systems.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Mathematics, Economics, or Statistics, or related experience; Master's Degree preferred
Work Experience:
3+ years professional experience providing high quality and advanced analytics for a complex, large not-for-profit organization and/or equivalent analytics experience in private sector marketing and sales
Proven track record in leveraging leading-edge digital tools, providing advanced analytical reports, and proactively working to help promote data-driven strategic insights
Non-profit and international humanitarian aid experience a plus
Experience and knowledge of global markets a plus
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
Excellent technical skills, including strong experience with SQL, complex relational databases, BI tools, and data visualization. Specific experience with data mining, statistical analysis and predictive modeling. Python or R knowledge a plus
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency with cutting-edge CRM systems (preferably Salesforce)
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to devise creative solutions to complex problems and issues
Demonstrated ability to maintain positive, collaborative, productive relationships with diverse key stakeholders across the organization
Strong communications skills with the ability to listen and converse effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues on reporting analysis and insights
Sound judgment in maintaining confidentiality of donor and key internal business information
Passion for and commitment to the IRC's mission
