Overview: IBTCI is seeking a Short-Term Senior-Level Adjunct Faculty/Professor to perform a variety of functions for an anticipated support services contract for the Africa Center for Strategic Studies (ACSS) under the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DCSA). The Adjunct Faculty/Professor will provide research services, develop content, and facilitate seminar and other academic events for ACSS. This short-term position may include up to 200 hours of level of effort yearly. This position is contingent upon award.
Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Provide adjunct faculty-level support to research and develop content in support of ACSS.
· Facilitate seminars, programs, curriculum development workshops, research and related activities for senior governmental officers from the U.S. and ACSS region
· Facilitate and lecture seminar instruction, development curriculum, concept papers, syllabi and other related academic documents.
· Conduct research and participate in related academic activities.
· Create content/curriculum for use in ACSS programs and/or products.
· Other duties as assigned.
RequiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Demonstrated experience creating seminar/curriculum content.
· Strict attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability and willingness to work with all levels of the organization.
Minimum Requirements:
· At least five years’ experience teaching and facilitating courses at the graduate level and a demonstrated track record in developing and leading academic programs relevant to the area of experience.
· Demonstrated level of excellence at facilitation and subject matter expertise. Individuals should be current and former US, European, and African civilian and military officials, scholars and subject matter experts, (e.g., Flag Officers, members of the Senior Executive Service (SES), Diplomatic corps, former Cabinet Members or former Members of Congress and other distinguished government personnel and distinguished foreign service personnel).
Education: Must possess a Master’s Degree; a PhD is preferable.
Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment.
Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Travel: International travel may be required.
