Overview: IBTCI is seeking a Web Editor and Multimedia Specialist to perform a variety of functions for an anticipated support services contract for the Africa Center for Strategic Studies (ACSS) under the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DCSA). The Web Editor and Multimedia Specialist will update and oversee the quality of written, photographic and multimedia content for official for ACSS websites and social media presences. This position is contingent upon award.

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Update and maintain the quality of written, photographic and multimedia content for official ACSS websites and online social media presences, ensuring that all public content adhere to high journalistic standards.

· Produce and edit written, visual and multimedia content or the Africa Center website and associated social media sites, newsletters, brochures, presentations and other project as required.

· Establish deadlines and manage production and distribution of regularly recurring content to include news releases, newsletters, summaries and information products.

· Manage email distribution lists.

· Other duties as assigned.

RequiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Demonstrated experience creating seminar/curriculum content.

· Strict attention to detail.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability and willingness to work with all levels of the organization.

Minimum Requirements:

· At least 5 years of professional experience deadline-driven public content production, such as newspaper, television, radio and website writing/editing and/or visual/multimedia content.

· Editorial experience to include news, writing and editing, visual and graphics editing, online content production and stringent quality control.

· U.S. government experience with issues related to African and U.S. foreign policy issues required.

· Oral and written fluency in English required. Fluency in French preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in new media, journalism, public relations or related field required.

Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment.

Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: International travel may be required.

Work Authorization: Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S.A.
