Background/IRC Summary: The IRC’s Economic Empowerment technical unit supports 25 US offices in developing, implementing, evaluating, resourcing, and scaling programs to help refugees, immigrants, and other low-income individuals reach self-sufficiency by finding entry-level employment and progress to living wage jobs, learn basic financial management skills and build assets, and start small businesses. These programs help families move sustainably out of poverty by offering high-quality, culturally-and linguistically accessible, integrated economic empowerment services.

Job Overview/Summary: The Workforce Development Resource Manager position will be a member of IRC’s national technical assistance work supporting IRC offices in development, implementing, evaluating, resourcing, and scaling workforce development programs including early employment, vocational ESL, sector-specific programming, and career pathway programs.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support in the development of key workforce development resources such as curricula and program tools, including independently preparing these materials and working with field offices to strengthen field-developed resources
  • Develop and maintain knowledge management systems to ensure that high-quality IRC workforce development and related economic empowerment resources are accessible to internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Ensure that the quality and style of workforce development resources developed by a wide variety of internal stakeholders is aligned with IRC’s brand and enables diverse audiences to easily use resources
  • In collaboration with the technical team, ensure that IRC’s workforce development programs across the U.S. are high-quality and consistently delivering best-in-class programming
  • In collaboration with the technical team, develop and coordinate a communication and training strategy that promotes adoption and utilization of high-quality program resources in workforce development and related economic empowerment program areas

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree an asset

Work Experience:

  • 2-4 years’ experience working in a non-profit, social services, public sector, or educational institution
  • Minimum 2 years working in workforce development or education programming
  • Direct experience developing curricula and instructional resources for adult learners strongly preferred
  • Experience developing and producing content such as reports, briefs, presentations, and curricula

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational skills required; experience using project management or other tools an asset
  • Ability to develop curricula and learning resources strongly preferred
  • Skills in graphic design and data visualization preferred
  • Skills developing learning content on web-based platforms preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make presentations and edit documents required
  • Competency in Microsoft Office required

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in English required
